How the calculator works

Official fare matrix

Fares come straight from the 2026 Schedule of Tolls for your entry/exit pair, plus the flat Westgate or Eastgate barrier toll where your trip crosses one. Nothing is approximated from per-mile rates.

Quarter-dollar fares

Every fare in the official table is set in 25-cent increments, so the calculator shows exactly the amount you will be charged.

Direction matters at Eastgate

The ticketed-section fare matrix is symmetric, but westbound trips crossing the Eastgate barrier near the Pennsylvania line pay its flat round-trip-rate toll; eastbound traffic passes Eastgate free.

Free zones flagged

There is no minimum toll. Local trips within the far-west (exits 13-39) or far-east (exits 215-234) zones cross no toll point, and the calculator flags them as toll-free.

Don't have an E-ZPass?

Most regular Turnpike users save money with an E-ZPass even after the $25 initial deposit and $3 activation charge. See whether it pays off for your usage pattern with the break-even calculator, or read the full E-ZPass guide first.

Calculator FAQ

How do I calculate my Ohio Turnpike toll?+
Pick your entry and exit interchange, choose your vehicle class and payment method, and the calculator returns the exact toll. Fares are read straight from the official 2026 Schedule of Tolls for that interchange pair, plus the flat Westgate or Eastgate barrier toll where the trip crosses one. Nothing is approximated from a per-mile rate.
How much is the Ohio Turnpike toll end to end?+
For a Class 1 passenger car the full 241-mile crossing is $19.00 with E-ZPass or $27.75 cash westbound (Pennsylvania border, Exit 239, to the Indiana border, Exit 2). Eastbound the same crossing is $16.00 with E-ZPass or $23.50 cash, because eastbound traffic passes the Eastgate barrier free.
How much is the toll from Cleveland to Toledo?+
Cleveland (Exit 173) to Toledo (Exit 64) is 109 miles and costs $7.75 with E-ZPass or $11.50 cash for a Class 1 passenger car in 2026. Use the calculator above for any other interchange pair or vehicle class.
Why is my westbound toll higher than eastbound on the same trip?+
The Eastgate flat barrier near the Pennsylvania line is collected at a round-trip rate from westbound traffic only; eastbound traffic passes it free. The ticketed-section fare matrix itself is symmetric, so the difference on a full crossing is exactly the Eastgate barrier toll.
Are any Ohio Turnpike trips toll-free?+
Yes. There is no minimum toll, and local trips that stay within the far-west zone (exits 13 to 39) or the far-east zone (exits 215 to 234) cross no toll point, so they are free. The calculator flags these trips as toll-free.
Does the calculator use 2026 toll rates?+
Yes. Every fare comes from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission's 2026 Schedule of Tolls, effective 1 January 2026, which raised rates 2.7% over 2025. Class 1 is $0.073 per mile E-ZPass and $0.106 per mile cash; all eight vehicle classes are covered.
